All Set to go !! (DAY 1)
Managed to clear the immigration into Malaysia without any hiccup. Pump up the petrol and started the journey at around 12.45pm leaving Gelang Patah. I had planned for a one stop journey (Ayer Keroh) stopping for petrol and a drink break to freshen up. Traffic was moderately heavy with many vehicles heading up north to Kuala Lumpur as well.
Nasi Kandar Pelita
Our first stop in Kuala Lumpur the moment we arrive was to drop by Peloita Nasi Kandar along Jalan Ampang to have lunch. We made it in good time arriving here by 3.30pm. I had a great sumptuous lunch before joining the rest at the hotel. Some of the riders also happen to pop by for lunch after checking in to their hotel rooms.
Arrived at the event hotel and was overjoyed to see the number. of Ducatis parked at the carpark. There was at least 30 bikes that is joining the convoy for Motogp from Ducati Motor Club Singapore. Checked into the hotel, washed up and rested. For dinner we headed down to KLCC for Din Tai Fung and then walked around to the food truck near our hotel. Oh yea....due to the rushing to pack stuff for the trip...some stuff were accidentally ommited...had to head down to a pharmacy to purchase the stuff.
All Set to go !!! (DAY 2)
Day 2, Saturday is the qualifying day in Sepang for Motogp.
We did spend the whole day in Sepang enjoying the carnival motogp atmosphere with motor enthusiast. There were many booths set up by well known brandss and companies selling good at discounted prices.
Started off the day by having a convoy ride from our hotel to a breakfast venue at Mines Welness City. We were hosted by Ducati Official Club Malaysia (DOCM) for the breakfast. It is nice to catch up with our Malaysian buddies who had turned good friends over the years. IT was a time when we could meet up and spend time catching up. DOCM has always played a hospitable host to us each time we are in Malaysia for. their event.
Convoy ride with the Malaysians into Sepang. We spent the whole day in Sepang watching the qualifying and also shopping at the booth selling memorabilias and biker stuff. Thankful to be given a VIP pass by DOCM to be able to head over to the hospitality area on the paddock side and getting to watch the. race teams at a much closer distance.
Left Sepang at about 6pm and headed back to the hotel. At night we went out for dinner at Kampong Baru in KL CIty Centre.
All Set to go !!! (DAY 3)
Its RACE DAY !!!!
For today, we are first headed down to Ducati Malaysia showroom in Petaling Jaya where we are hosted breakfast and then a convoy ride up to Sepang. This will be an escorted convoy by the Malaysian traffic police all the way into Sepang.
Again we ended our day in Sepang late at around 6pm. We rode back to the hotel. By dinner time we were to tired to walk around looking for food. We decided to dine at the Hard Rock Cafe which is located at the annex building of our hotel.. Ate our dinner while watching the band performs on stage. It was nice to see band performance all over again post Covid.
Decide to ride back to Singapore early morning at 5 am to avoid the Deepavali traffic build up. We were lucky as the road was clear all the way back into Singapore. Arrived in Singapore by 8.00am.
Back in the Republic
8 am back in the republic. Ruashed back home as it meant that I am able to make it for the 10.20am movie that my kids are watching. So to cut story short, made it back home in time and went out with the kids for a movie and breakfast.
