DMCS Breakfast Ride 13 Aug 22

DMCS Breakfast Ride 13 Aug 22

Spent the Saturday in August for a ride in Malaysia in the state of Johore. The Ducati Motor Club Singapore (DMCS) had organised a ride in collaboration with some of its neighbour, the Southern Desmo CLub of Johor. Many Ducati owners had gathered for this ride. It has been one of the few overseas ride that has been organised since Covid pandemic and we hope to have more of this in future.

All set for the ride. Members and friends gathered at Gelang Patah Petronas at 7.00 am in the morning. Everyone is excited for our breakfast ride to finally kick off again (hopefully on a regular basis)

Setting off from Gelang Patah at around 8.00am in the morning, we stopped over Kulaijaya Shell to rendezvous with some of the Southern Desmo riders ( Ducati owners from Johor) and continued on our Journey. The journey took us about 90km to the quiet town of Batu Pahat in Johor, malaysia

Arriving at the town, there were some slight changes to the breakfast venue as the initial breakfast venue planned is closed on Saturdays. We headed down to the next shop recommended by our Johor friends. Reservations were made together with ample parking spaces for our stallions and all these were ready when we arrived.

From Warung Abah in Batu Pahat, we headed down to Akbar Chendol ( famous Chendol stall) near the market in Batui Pahat Town. We had to wait a while while they cleared out enough space for our group to occupy. We occupied almost the whole unit of the shophouse. Chendol was simple but deliciously traditional taste. It was nice to have such cool deserts on a hot day.

The initial plan was to have lunch in Sungai Rengit in Desaru (Optional) while some others have decided to head back home after breakfast. However the plan is so dynamic that it was changed to a Go Kart session somewhere in Medini (nearby Legoland). This would also be convenient to most of us, those going home and those who wish to join but cannot commit to the time and distance required if we were to ride over to Desaru. Hence down south the the town of Medini we went. I was hoping to swing by the Johor FC newly built stadium to have a look (perhaps another time).

So here we are, at Racing Underbox, a Go Kart track with a nice instagramable cafe within its facility. Some of the members had their hand on a session of Go Karting on the track while others dine in at the cafe and enjoyed the food and the view.

Ended the day by 5pm and headed back to Singapore while the remaining members continued on for dinner somewhere in Johor.
